Who is responsible
House of Klaassens (Ravi Klaassens, Duivelshofhoek 11, 7546 BJ Enschede, the Netherlands; KVK 92913601), which makes occluze, is responsible for your personal data. Questions or requests go to [email protected].
What we keep
Your account: your email address, your name if you sign in with Google, and when you signed up and last signed in. Passwords are stored by our sign-in provider as a one-way hash; we never see them.
Your plan: which plan you have, whether it renews, and the customer number Paddle gives you. Your card and bank details go to Paddle only and never reach us.
Your devices: for each computer where Kovo is signed in, its name, its operating system, the Kovo version and when it was last seen, so you can see them and sign them out under Devices.
How much you use Kovo: how many videos you export and how many seconds they last, counted per month. Never which websites, and never the videos.
Your choices: which apps you asked to hear about, and whether you want optional emails, with the time you chose it.
If you join a waitlist on occluze.com without an account: your email address and which apps you want to hear about, so we can tell you when they are out. Nothing else.
Which notices of policy changes we emailed you, and when.
Emails you send us.
What we don't keep
We never see which websites you record or the videos you make; they stay on your computer.
occluze.com has no advertising, no tracking and no analytics cookies. Your browser keeps what keeps you signed in, and a note of the page to come back to after signing in. When you open a checkout, it is Paddle's, and Paddle's privacy policy covers it.
Why we use it
To give you your account, your plan and your devices, because that is the agreement between us.
To keep the service secure and to stop misuse, because we have a legitimate interest in that.
To email you about your account and your plan, and about changes to these policies that matter, because that is part of the agreement between us. These emails can't be switched off.
To send you optional emails (news, and summaries of small policy changes), only if you said yes. You can switch them off any time under Settings.
To tell you when an app you joined the waitlist for is out, because you asked us to. Ask us and we remove you from the list.
Who helps us
Supabase stores the accounts and runs the sign-in, in the European Union (Paris).
Paddle handles payments as Merchant of Record; what they do with your data is in Paddle's own privacy policy.
Cloudflare serves occluze.com and the app downloads.
Resend sends our emails, so it gets your email address and what we write to you.
Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of them may handle data outside the European Union; where they do, it is under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account, devices, usage counts, choices and waitlist places are removed straight away.
A waitlist address without an account is kept until that app is out and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove it.
Records of past payments are kept without your name, and Paddle keeps invoices for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, to object to how we use it, or to withdraw a consent you gave. Email [email protected] and we answer within a month. Most of it you can also do yourself in your dashboard.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the one where you live.
Security
Every request to our database is checked so that you only ever reach your own data. Everything travels encrypted, and Kovo keeps its sign-in encrypted on your computer.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email you before the change takes effect.
