Terms

Who we are

occluze makes desktop apps for people who make websites: Kovo, and later Umber and Prism. occluze is a product of House of Klaassens, the business of Ravi Klaassens in the Netherlands. You can reach us at [email protected].

Occluze and House of Klaassens are trade names of Ravi Klaassens, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) at Duivelshofhoek 11, 7546 BJ Enschede, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number 92913601; VAT number NL004985632B33.

These terms are an agreement between you and House of Klaassens. They cover occluze.com, your occluze account and every occluze app. By making an account or using an app, you agree to them.

Your account

One account is for one person. Use an email address you can read, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens in it.

You need to be at least 16 to make an account.

Plans and payment

Our order process is handled by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle takes the payment, charges the right VAT and sends your invoices, and Paddle's Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms) apply to the purchase.

Prices on occluze.com are shown without VAT. A plan renews by itself every month or every year, at the price you agreed to, until you cancel it.

You can cancel any time under Plan in your dashboard. You won't be charged again, and the app stays yours until the end of the period you paid for.

Within 14 days of any payment you can ask for it back in full, as the refund policy says.

If a price changes, we tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and the new price only applies from that renewal on.

Using the apps

While your plan is active, you may install the apps on your own computers and use them, for your own work and for clients. The licence is yours alone: it can't be shared, sold or passed on.

Please don't copy, resell or take apart the apps, or try to get around the plan checks in them.

What you make with the apps, such as the videos you export from Kovo, is yours.

What you record

Kovo films the websites you point it at. Make sure you are allowed to record and use them, for example because they are yours or your client's, or because the owner agrees.

If you switch on AI access in Kovo, the AI app you connect acts for you. You are responsible for what it does with Kovo.

Updates and availability

Every update is included in your plan, and the apps update themselves. Features can change as the apps improve; we won't take away what your plan is for without telling you first.

Kovo checks your plan now and then. Without an internet connection it keeps working for 14 days after its last successful check.

We work hard to keep the apps and occluze.com running, but we can't promise they will always be available or free of mistakes.

Liability

As far as the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, and we are not liable for indirect damage such as lost profit or lost data.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law as a consumer, or limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Ending

You can delete your account any time under Settings. That stops any plan straight away and removes your account and its data, as the privacy policy describes.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we reasonably can.

Changes and law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we email you before the change takes effect.

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law of the country you live in, and you can go to the courts there.
