How to record a Framer site

Published

Framer sites lean on motion: elements that appear as they scroll in, sticky sections, hover effects and smooth page changes. A screen recording catches them unevenly, at the mercy of the scroll wheel. Kovo scrolls the page itself and records it frame by frame, so every appear animation plays in time. Here is how to record a Framer site, for a portfolio, a template listing or a launch post.

Open the site

Type the address in Kovo's URL field and press Enter: your own domain, or the site's framer.website address while it isn't on one yet.

Hide the badge and the banners

Cookie banners are hidden for you. To hide the Made in Framer badge, or anything else, hold Alt+Shift, point at it and click. It stays hidden on every page of the video.

Let the appear animations play

Framer's appear and scroll animations play as the video scrolls through them. Hold a little longer on a section whose elements come in one after another, so they've finished before the video moves on.

Set the size for each breakpoint

Full HD, 1920 by 1080, shows the desktop breakpoint. Pick iPad for the tablet one, or iPhone or the Story size for the phone one: the site opens with touch, at that breakpoint's layout.

Make it move like the site

Paste the curve your site uses, as a CSS cubic-bezier or four numbers the way Framer Motion writes them, and every move in the video eases the same way as the site's own animations.

Export

Export at 2x for a sharp desktop video, or at 3x for the phone sizes. A Story exported at 3x is a 1080 by 1920 vertical video for Reels and TikTok.

Questions

Will Framer's appear animations show in the video?

Yes. Kovo records the page as it scrolls, frame by frame, so elements that animate in on scroll do so in the video, at the pace you set.

Can I hide the Made in Framer badge?

Yes. Hold Alt+Shift, point at the badge and click. It stays hidden for the whole video.

Can I use my Framer Motion easing in the video?

Yes. Paste the four numbers of your curve, or a CSS cubic-bezier, into Kovo's curve field, and the video's moves follow it.

Can I record each breakpoint?

Yes. Record once at a desktop size and once at a tablet or phone size: tall sizes up to 1024 wide open as a tablet, and narrow ones as a phone.

Can I record a Framer template preview?

Yes. Open the template's preview address in Kovo, place the markers and export. It's a quick way to show a template on a marketplace or social.

When can I get Kovo?

Kovo opens in Q1 2027, at €100 a year. Join the waitlist on occluze.com to hear when it's out.
